Italy Europe

Italy is among the world’s most famous tourist destinations, but it was only in 1861 that it became a unified state.
As a result, it’s common to notice that Italians feel more loyalty to their region than to the nation as a whole.
This manifests itself in the cuisine, dialects, landscapes and lifestyle.
However, if you ask an Italian what the best place in the world is, they will most likely say “Italy”.
Another factor that unites them is enjoying every moment of life and especially the dolce far niente.

OVERVIEW

  • Capital: Rome
  • Language: Italian, but in many regions local dialects are spoken
  • Currency: Euro
  • Travel visa: The visa is issued on entry to the country by the French Immigration Police.
If you are already in the European Union, you do not need a visa to enter France.
  • Travel Insurance: Travel insurance is compulsory for all tourists visiting any country on the European continent that is part of the Schengen Treaty.
  • Covid-19 vaccine: Moderna, Pfizer, Janssen, AstraZaneca
  • When to go: Italy is a country of diverse landscapes and climates that can be visited all year round.
As it is one of the most popular destinations in Europe, avoid the height of summer, between June and September.
In addition to the melting heat, everything gets very crowded and more expensive.
To enjoy higher temperatures and the country’s wonderful beaches, May, June and September are great months.
  • Safety In general, it’s a safe destination for women, but it may not be so quiet either.
Men tend to mess around a lot. In big cities, you have to be more careful on the streets and avoid going into alleyways. If you are being bothered by a man, say “Non mi piace questo tipo di discorsi/comportamento. Per favore lasciarmi in pace.”
  • Transportation: one of the best ways to get around the country is via its super-connected railway system. However, two regions in particular are more interesting for traveling by car: Tuscany and Sicily.
In Rome, public transportation may not work so well.
  • Socket type: the country’s standard voltage is 220v and they use the L-type model (3 pins aligned).
  • Highlights: if there’s one country that’s blessedly beautiful, it’s Italy!
It’s hard to choose the most recommended destinations, but here we go: Rome, Venice, Puglia, Amalfi Coast, Como, Sicily.
